Sausalito Real Estate 94920

The City of Sausalito site includes the business of City Hall, with links to Departments, Boards, Commissions, et al. The Planning Department and Building Division have the most to do with real estate.

The ABAG 2010 Bay Area Census provides Sausalito demographics including population of 7,062, race, sex, age, housing, education ...... But the most interesting demographics site - including crime stats, religion stats, bank branches, local government employment and payroll - is City-Data.com.

The two ordinances in the Sausalito Municipal Code which may be of special interest are:

* The Trees and Views Preservation Ordinance, at Title 11, Chapters 11 and 12
* The Buildings and Construction Ordinance, at Title 8

POINT-OF-SALE ORDINANCE

All jurisdictions with which I am familiar impose point-of-sale requirements upon the seller, responsibility for which may, sometimes, by negotiation, be transferred to the buyer. These include upgrading sewer laterals [Sausalito], City Inspections [Mill Valley], water conservation inspections [San Francisco], report of residential building record [San Francisco, Sausalito] . . .

For Sausalito an approved sewer video inspection is required on all residential resales. A current sewer video must be on file and reviewed by the Sausalito Sewer Coordinator prior the release of the Residential Building Record Report. An approved sewer video is valid for 3 years.

"The report of residential building record shall be delivered by the owner or authorized agent of the owner to the buyer or transferee of the residential building prior to the consummation of the sale or exchange. The City of Sausalito does not complete physical building resale inspections. Upon request, a report is generated listing activity on subject address."

SAUSALITO SCHOOLS

The Sausalito Marin City School District is an elementary district drawing its student population from Sausalito and Marin City. The District has two small schools for kindergarten through 8th grade: Bayside/Martin Luther King Elementary School and North Bay Elementary School. District enrollment is 255 students. Class size averages 18 students. As of the Spring of 2004 I found that the links to both North Bay and Bayside were broken, and there were no new links to be found.

* Bayside Elementary
* MLK Academy
* Willow Creek Academy

Students proceed to the Mill Valley Middle School. And from there, to Tamalpais High School

MarinCountyPrivateSchools.com publishes a guide to elementary and high schools. The publisher is not disclosed.

Any school can be compared to other schools in the District, the County and the State using the Education Data Partnership site. From the "Reports" menu select "Schools". After entering "Marin" in the County field, then select any elementary, middle or high school district. Then, from "Related Links" choose "Compare Schools". In the grid for "Compare schools" pay attention to each field to insure that the result matches your search: eg, comparing one school to all in the County.
